A nature and animal lover, dogs have always been present in her life. |
Andrzej Stepinski, Poland |
Critic & historian of theatre, I’m the member of Polish Kennel Club since 1978. |
Birgit Seloy, Denmark |
I am passed for group 2-3-9 and some breeds in group 5. |
Andrew Burt, Australia |
I have been involved in dogs for over 45 years. My main involvement has been with Bullmastiffs and Shiba Inu. I have been lucky enough to both own and handle some top quality Bullmastiffs. Over the last 25 years I have successfully bred and exhibited Shiba Inu under the Kazumi prefix, breeding and owning Shibas that have reached BIS level. Other breeds with which I have some involvement include Whippets, Setters and French Bulldogs, Shih Tzu and Labradors. I have been judging at Championship Show level for over 30 years, and I am licensed to Judge All Breeds. Judging dogs is an absolute passion for me, and I learn more every day through judging, discussions, considerations and contemplations. I have judged extensively throughout Australia, together with New Zealand, many countries throughout Asia, The Americas, UK and several countries in Europe. Highlights include awarding CCs to Bullmastiffs in the UK, judging the Bullmastiff World Cup in Budapest, Hungary and in 2014, and again in France in 2019. I had the pleasure of judging several breeds at the Helsinki World Dog Show. I was honoured to judge the FCI Asia Section Show in Seoul 2019, invited to judge the Caribbean and Americas Section in 2020, and the European Dog Show in France in 2022. I am Chairman of the Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria Dog Section – which conducts Melbourne Royal Show each year, one of the largest Dog Shows both in Australia and the Southern Hemisphere. I am also Chairman of The Classic Dog Show Committee in Victoria. I am a past Trainee Judges Manager for the Non Sporting, Utility and Hound groups in Victoria, and an accredited Tester in the ANKC Judges Training Scheme for all breeds. I am a member of the Dogs Victoria Conformation Judges Training Committee and the Dogs Victoria Colour Investigation Panel. |
Carlos Salas, Spain |
We might say that dogs have been the centre of both his personal and professional life. |
Cristian Stefanescu, Romania |
Since I was little we had dogs in the family and in general my love for animals was brought on me by my grandfather, a huge dog lover who also offered me my first dog, a small red Spitz. This happened back in 1974. I starded to breed English Cocker Spaniels in 1988 and since 2001 American Staffordshire Terrier. I first went to a dog show in Bucharest in 1981. It was the decisive moment in my evolution in the canine world. That was when I was “infested” with this virus and I believe that I will never “heal”. I have bred English Cocker Spaniels for 15 years, reds and blacks. A lot of the obtained puppies received excellent results both in national and international shows. I have managed to monitor them up to the fourth and fifth generation. Unfortunatelly, because of the great number of places I was invited to judge, I had to stop here but continued as a dog owner. It is better to know when to stop rather than do things half-way. In my opinion, having in view the limited time, you can`t do both things at top level. You need to choose, to feel what is important. This is just a personal opinion and I admire those people that can breed and judge at the same level. I do not think that there are many in this situation. I became an FCI judge since the year 1992 and since 2005 an all-rounder judge. I have the approval to judge all FCI recognized breeds, specialist judge for Molossoids and Bull Type Terriers and I`ve had the honour and pleasure to judge in these last years in all major European and World FCI dog shows. Since 1988 I was the secretary of the English Cocker Spaniel Club in Bucharest and since 1996 until 2005 I was the General Secretary of the Romanian Kennel Club. I am now the President of the Romanian Kennel Club and Chairman of the Metropolitan Area of Bucharest Kennel Club. The most important is that you truly love the DOG. If there is this feeling, the rest just comes naturally. But with a lot of hard work and lots of passion. A lot of time dedicated to study and an exemplary behavior towards the people who show and the organizers. Each moment of judging brings me a huge responsibility for what I say and do. I’m recipient of the Golden Medal of the Romanian Kennel Club and Hungarian Kennel Club. My biggest hobby, because I also have other hobbies, is photography as art and means of education and communication. More than anytime, and it also applies to the canine world, an image makes a thousand words. But, a good image, a quality image!

Maja Bubalo, Croatia |
I was born in 1978. in Rijeka, Croatia, in a family of dog lovers. I have finished University of criminal studies and worked as an inspector in the Ministry of finance, and now for Goverment of Croatia as a State Inspector for Toursism. We have always had dogs, from my childhood, and somehow we were stuck with a Spaniels, English cocker spaniels. Immediately I have fall in love in a dog shows and dog handling. As we had British breeds I was very much concentrared in a British dog show scene. In 1991., BIS at the world famous dog show Crufts, won a dog of a breed that I have never seen before, a Clumber Spaniel. |
Maša Široka, Slovenia |
Most of my spare time is dedicated to Cynology. I am active in the Cynological Association of Slovenia as a breeder, judge and member of the Board and the Breeding Committee of the Slovenian Terrier Club. Over the years, I have worked on the Organization Committee where we organized club shows, seminars, etc., in the past, I was the Club’s Secretary for 8 years. As long as I can remember I have been fascinated with animals, especially dogs. I grew up with an Epagneul Breton and Irish Setter. Later we had Basset Hounds for more than 15 years. At that time I was involved in my hometown kennel club helping at dog shows as a ring steward. My mother was in charge of showing the Irish Setter and the Basset Hounds. During my student years my last Basset Hound got very old and I was looking for a breed that would fit more to my personality. My first Scottish Terrier came in to my life in 2003 and I fell in love with this breed. After that year I became much more involved in Terriers. I registered my prefix Peabar (Gaelic name for Pepper) in 2005 when I had my first litter. I don't breed a lot but I try to do my best for this unique breed. Since then Peabar Kennels has consistently produced dogs that have been Best in Show and Specialty winners, as well as dogs that have been nationally ranked at the top of their breed in Europe and Overseas. I love to write about my trips and I usually share my traveling impressions in different magazines, such as Kinolog and Moj mali svet. A few of my articles were published also in Canine Chronicle, Dog News and Best in Show magazines. |
Olga Šinko Kupriyanova, Slovenia |
I have been involved with the dogs since my childhood. My first breed was Great Danes. |
Robert Kanas, Slovakia |
I was born in 1977. All my life has been connected with the love of animals, especially dogs. The first one was a Wirehaired Dachshund, later on came a Cesky Terrier, Skye Terrier, a West Highland White Terrier, also in co-ownership an American Cocker Spaniel, a Bobtail, an Irish Terrier and a Newfoundland. The FLANAGAN prefix was officially registered by the FCI in 1994 and we have bred several litters and very successful dogs under it. I still breed the Skye Terriers nowadays, but also the West Highland White Terriers with my wife Martina under her prefix SUNSHINE CELEBRATION. Our most important success includes many championships from not only European countries, international championships, several European and World Winner titles, including our bred dogs and Crufts, Westminster and Montgomery Best of Breed Winners. You can meet dogs from both of our kennels around the whole Europe, but also in Asia, Australia and on the American continent. I have entered the world of dog shows thirty two years ago, first as an exhibitor of my own dogs, later on as a handler or groomer of other breeds. I started judging in 2001. Today I am an international judge for all breeds of the FCI group 3, 4, 8, 9, 10 and some breeds from groups 1, 2, 5, 6, and Best in Show judge. I have judged many international, national and specialty shows in Slovakia, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Holland, Hungary, Italy, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and USA, from the most important shows I should mention the FCI World Dog Show 2009, 2021, FCI European Show 2011, 2014, 2016, 2018 World Special Terrier Show INTERRA 2013, the BIS at World Terrier Show Helsinky 2014 and the Montgomery National Specialty 2017 in US. Very often I judge Junior Handling. Out of all the show invitations I mostly appreciate to get the honor of judging club or specialty shows of different breeds. I was a member of the organizing team of the European Dog Show 2003 and the World Dog Show 2009. You can often meet me at the shows also as the main ring speaker. I would especially point out the European Show 2003, the Doberman IDC World Show 2003, World Champion of Champions FCI VICTOR GRAND PRIX 2004 and the World Dog Show 2009. Through the years I have been a member of the board of the Slovak Terrier and Fox Terrier club and currently I´m president of this club. Nowadays I´m chairman of the show committee of prestigious international dog shows Dog Expo Nitra – one of the biggest event in Slovakia. I´m member of FCI Show Commission. |
Svend Løvenkjær, Denmark |
I have been involved with dogs all my life. My passion for dogs started when I was no more than 12 years old and got my first Schnauzer. At that time I was living in Sweden, and helping out regularly at a Schnauzer Kennel. This allowed me the opportunity to show the Kennel´s dogs as well as my own. Showing and breeding dogs remained a major part of my life - mainly English Springer Spaniels and Newfoundlands; several Champions and World Winners.
